Maurice W. Heller received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania (1979) and his law degree from Cardozo Law School (1984), where he served as Notes and Comment Editor of the Cardozo Arts and Entertainment Law Journal. After graduation, Maury clerked for the Hon. Robert M. McRae, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. Before joining HH&F in May 1993, Maury practiced for two years at Kaye, Scholer, Fierman, Hays & Handler and for six years at Winthrop, Stimson, Putnam & Roberts, where he practiced general commercial litigation, insurance coverage disputes, environmental matters and adversary proceedings in bankruptcy. Since joining HH&F Maury has continued practicing commercial litigation and insurance law, health law, small business transactions, cooperative and condominium law. Maury has written and lectured nationally on issues pertaining to health care, and regularly counsels and represents nursing homes and other health care providers in matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. |
